These eight foods outlined below can dramatically alter your health in a good way. If you are not currently including them into your weekly food choice, add one or two at a time. It’s a good practice to begin your day with a huge glass of lemon water in exchange for your morning coffee! Your body will thank you!

1. Almonds

Almonds are an excellent source of fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, which work together to remove cholesterol and purify the blood. Almonds also contain high amounts of calcium, magnesium, copper, and vitamin E. With a low glycemic index and beneficial vegetable proteins, almonds help control blood sugar and promote healthy bowel function.

2. Blueberries

These little fruits pack huge health benefits. Blueberries are rich in anti-inflammatory aspirin-like properties and have powerful detoxifying compounds known as proanthocyanins. Blueberries’ antibacterial, cleansing properties also help prevent urinary tract infections.

3. Avocados

These wonder fruits help flush out bad cholesterol and environmental toxins while improving oxygen flow in the blood. Their secret lies in the nutrient glutathione, a potent amino acid blend that fights against dozens of carcinogens. Avocados are also one of few fruits rich in omega-3 fatty acids, not to mention fiber, copper, folate, and various other nutrients.

4. Leafy Greens

Greens such as kale, spinach, and collard greens are up there among the most nutritionally dense foods on the planet. They are rich in a variety of vitamins and minerals and super low in calories. Like most vegetables, leafy greens are high in fiber, which helps cleanse the intestinal tract. They also contain phytonutrients that help with liver function and neutralize harmful free radicals found in pollutants such as cigarette smoke. They make a healthy addition to any meal plan!

5. Fresh Garlic

There are an array of detoxification powers in fresh garlic. It restores healthy respiration by clearing mucus from the lungs and sinuses. It flushes out microorganisms and certain viruses from the blood. Also, garlic can help fight off carcinogens, clear arterial blockages, and control blood pressure.

Rich in vitamin C and lycopene, grapefruit will boost the immune system and it can help reduce the risk of cancer. Grapefruit is high in fiber and helps reduce cholesterol. It cleanses the bowels and is famous for its “negative calories”; grapefruit activates the liver’s fat-burning engine, which increases metabolism.

7. Lemons

The powerful citric compounds in lemons promote healthy digestion and clear away tiny food particles, making the liver’s job easier. Like all citrus fruits, lemons contain high amounts of vitamin C, which helps remove free radicals and carcinogens from the body. When used in conjunction with ‘The Master Cleanse” for 3-5 days in a row, lemons help to cleanse the liver and intestines.

8. Seaweed

Popular in Eastern countries but often overlooked in the West, seaweed contains unique plant compounds that bind to radioactive waste and heavy metals such as lead and mercury. These harmful substances can seep into food from polluted soil or water. Seaweed is also rich in iodine and various minerals.
